Education voucher, Qualifizierungschancengesetz, educational leave: which routes exist, who can use them – and how to find out what applies to you.
In Germany, coaching qualifications and leadership programmes are often eligible for public funding – through the Federal Employment Agency, through your employer or under state law. Which route applies depends on your status, your federal state and the programme you choose. So what follows is an overview, not a promise.

Three routes worth checking
Education voucher (Bildungsgutschein)
Issued by the Federal Employment Agency or the Jobcenter when further training improves your professional situation. It covers course fees – fully or in part, depending on the decision.
Qualifizierungschancengesetz
For employees whose work is changing through technology or structural change. The Federal Employment Agency contributes to course fees and, depending on company size, to wages. The application goes through the employer.
Educational leave (Bildungsurlaub)
In most federal states, employees are entitled to paid leave for recognised further training. Scope and recognition follow the respective state law.
Which programmes qualify?
The coaching qualifications and the Future Leadership Reset. For the Young Women Leadership Program the question does not arise – it is a scholarship and costs nothing. All programmes at a glance
Are the full costs covered?
That depends on the instrument and on the decision. For the Future Leadership Reset up to 100 % is possible depending on your circumstances; for the other programmes partial funding is the more common case.
When do I need to take care of it?
Before you register. An education voucher is issued before the measure begins, never retroactively – and processing takes time.
